how WE MET. BY DEVIN
I had just got back from an overseas trip that week and made plans with Adam to go out to some bars in Boston on a Friday night. While I was driving up to his place we spoke on the phone to game plan where we would go, he mentioned the usual spots and then said that Elise was also going out with one of her friends, that they were out for dinner and we may or may not cross paths with them that night. While I had high expectations for a fun night out, I had no idea what would happen next. Adam and I were having a few beers and heating up some leftovers before heading out when Elise and Tabi arrived back at the apartment. My first impressions were of a funny, outgoing, and beautiful woman exclaiming that it was “Tabi Day!”, the makings of some self-fulfilling prophecy perhaps… Tabi and Elise settled into the living room at the other end of the cozy one-bedroom apartment, clearly having a good time as they chatted in Portuguese while Adam and I finished our pre-game meal. We were all planning on going out that night anyways so why not all go together Elise and Adam suggested. We were now all in the cramped kitchen getting ready to go and having one last drink before heading out. Standing off to the side I watched as Tabi politely, but with some disappointment declined the offer of a Truly hard seltzer, at that point I confidently chimed in, “yeah those things suck, do you like beer?” It was the first time we really locked eyes and I could tell her reaction would be positive from the subtle smile that emerged, her purple lipstick amplifying the visual stimulus causing an involuntary and perhaps blushed smile on my part. That first Pacifico broke the ice and we were soon chatting and getting to know each other as we sat side by side on our way to the bars. Once there we met some other friends who briefly stopped by, but Tabi and I had migrated to the dance floor and had entered our own world. We danced closely most of the night and we could both feel the strong connection that was forming so quickly. After a long night out we both slept on the living room floor holding each other as we slept on the rug and in the same clothes we had worn out that night. The next day we all took a trip to the Plymouth waterfront for lunch, the feelings that had blossomed the previous night were clearly still present, we enjoyed the day together and with friends, it was a great time, and the first of many to come.
a little bit more about us. by tABI
We met on June 15, 2018. It was a Friday night. I didn't know I would meet the love of my life and how he would change my life in so many good ways. I didn't know he was going to change all my plans. Devin is shy so I knew I needed to start that interaction. I remember of asking, what kind of beer are you drinking? Pacifico. Now one of my favorites. We talked all night about him, about me. His boat, his passion for sailing, history, we danced and kissed. From my perception it took me a while to get in that heart, but I know I did, and I have my place there forever. He stole my heart fast. I was just so impressed about him. So handsome, kind, nice and talented. Together, we've done a lot. Our favorites things to do: Sail, go to breweries, travel, spend time with family, skiing/snowboarding. Devin is not only my life partner but my best friend. I can share with him everything I feel and think without being afraid of being judge or afraid he would make me feel bad for who I am. His heart feels like home to me, no matter where we go if I am with Devin, I am home and for me nothing is better then have that home warm feeling. I LOVE YOU and thank you for being the best Dad for Bun Bun our bunny and always support me and my silly things.
